Conditions relating to the use of Estate Rifles

If you would like to book stalking, but do not have your own Firearms Certificate, deer legal rifle or are a foreign guest, we can legally provide firearms to use under Section 16 of the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988, which makes provisions for suitable rifles to be borrowed (or hired) from the owner or occupier of land.

There are legal conditions which apply to the use of an "estate rifle".
1) No person who is a "prohibited person" may use or have in their
possession any firearm.
2) Only persons aged 17 or over may borrow a rifle.
3) The occupier of land or employee must be present at all times.
4) If accompanied by an employee of the owner / occupier, the employee
must hold a Firearms certificate with appropriate conditions for the use of
the rifle and ammunition.
5) Any unused ammunition must remain with the owner / occupier or
employee.

Anyone who wishes to use an "estate rifle" will be required to provide proof of identity and sign a declaration that they are not prohibited by law from using or possessing firearms.

Declaration of conformity with
“Prohibited Persons” regulations.

What constitutes a ‘prohibited person’ in terms of possessing firearms?
Persons who are sentenced to a term of imprisonment of three years or more are never allowed to possess firearms or ammunition, and persons who are sentenced to a term of imprisonment for three months or more but less than three years must not possess them until five years have passed since the date of release.

The prohibition extends to all air weapons, air gun pellets and shot gun ammunition.
